How to Play

Play Tom & Jerry the Movie the Duel for free. T&J the Duel is a simple but fun tile matching game where you try to score enough points to win before the hotel is damaged. Play on easy mode as Jerry or hard mode as Tom. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

  • Starting the Game
    • Click on the play button on the game loading screen.
      • This will bring up the game instructions. Click on play again to start the game.
      • Choose to play on easy as Jerry or on hard as Tom.
      • The game has full screen option and a sound control button in the upper right corner.
      • Game Controls
        • Desktop
          • Tap on a tile to remove that tile and any neighboring tiles of the same type.
          • You can remove individual tiles by clicking on them, but score significantly more points for removing larger groups of tiles.
            • On touchscreen devices you use your finger like a mouse.
            • The game has full screen option, a sound control button, and a pause button in the upper right corner.
              • The pause button allows you to resume the game, quit the game, or read gameplay instructions.
              • Game Play
                • Playing field configuration
                  • The playing field is 10 columns by 12 rows for a total of 120 pieces showing at any time.
                  • There are red, orange, green, blue, and purple tiles.
                    • Given each tile (other than edge tiles) touch other tiles on 4 sides (while edge tiles touch on 3 sides & corners touch on 2 sides) most tiles will be connected to at least one other tile of the same color.
                      • Tap on pieces to collect them.
                        • If there are many adjoining pieces you gain more points.
                        • Aim for big groups of touching pieces.
                        • If there are only a few piece between two big chunks of the same color try to remove them first in order to combine the large chunks into a single huge chunk.
                        • Scores grow almost geometrically based on the number of tiles which are touching.
                          • Tap on a mousetrap to set a trap for your opponent.
                            • Be careful not to click on a trap they set or you will lose time.
                            • When traps are set it shows where they are located for a second but then you have to remember for the rest of the game.
                            • You only activate the traps if you click on the specific tile where the trap was set. You can remove the trap by clicking on a neighboring tile of the same collor.
                            • Score more points than your opponent before the hotel gets too damaged.
                              • The damage level of the hotel increases every 10 moves.
                              • You win if you fill your power meter before the game ends.
                              • If neither player fills their power meter before the hotel is damaged excessively both players lose.
                              • It is best to initially focus on removing tiles near the top of the screen unless there are rather large connections near the bottom as the tiles removed from the top allow tiles coming up to impact many rows.
                              • Game status
                                • Your power meter is the meter is the one just atop the playing field but below the picture of Tom & Jerry.
                                • Your opponent’s power meter is at the very top of the game.
                                • Audience
                                  • This game is easy to play and beat.
                                    • It should be fun for all ages.
                                    • Young children will likely be able to beat the game on easy mode.
                                    • Adults and experienced video gamers should have little trouble beating hard mode.
                                    • There is no adult imagery in the game.
